Delete your FlagStack account
Last updated: August 2026FlagStack creates an account for you automatically the first time you open the app, so you have one even if you never signed up or gave us an email address. You can delete it whenever you like, and you do not need an email address on it to do so.
1. In the app
This is the fastest way, and it needs nothing from us. Open the Profile tab, go to Settings, and scroll to Delete Account. If you attached an email address to your account, enter your password to confirm. If you never did, type DELETE to confirm. Deletion begins straight away and cannot be undone.
If the app is still on your phone, section 1 is the whole answer and you can stop reading there. Being signed in is what proves the account is yours, which is why that route needs nothing from us and works even if you have not played for months.
2. If you have already uninstalled the app
What we can do here depends on whether you ever attached an email address to the account.
If you did, email us from that address and we will delete the account for you. The address on the account is what confirms it is yours.
If you never did, we have no way to tell your request apart from anyone else's. Usernames are public, because they appear on the leaderboard and on profiles, so a username on its own is not proof of anything. If we deleted accounts on that basis, a stranger could wipe months of your progress by reading your name off a leaderboard. So we will not do it, and we would not want to.
The way through is to reinstall the app if you still can. If the account is still signed in on your phone, section 1 deletes it in seconds. If it is not, that account is one nobody can reach or sign in to, including us, and it holds no name, no email address and no location.
Email us to delete your accountThe address is flagstacksupport@gmail.com if your device does not open mail from a link. We may need to ask you something before we act, to confirm the account is yours.
3. What attaching an email address buys you
Under Save Your Progress in the app you can put an email address and a password on your account. Most people think of that as the thing that carries progress to a new phone, and it is, but it is also the only thing that lets you prove the account is yours from outside the app. Without it, everything above depends on still having the app installed. It costs a minute and it is worth doing before you need it.
4. What deletion removes
- Your profile, meaning your username, display name, bio, country and avatar
- Your game data, including XP, quiz and battle history, flag mastery, Flag Challenge progress and achievements
- Your friends and the people you follow
- The usage analytics recorded against your account
Games you played against other people stay in their own history, because that record is theirs as much as yours. Your account is no longer attached to it.
5. When it happens
Your profile and game data are anonymised immediately, so nothing that identifies you remains visible in the app. Your authentication record is permanently deleted within 30 days, and the same process deletes the usage analytics recorded against you.
6. Removing some of your data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete the whole account to get rid of something. Email us from the address on the account, saying what you would like removed. If there is no email address on the account, the same limit applies as in section 2: we cannot tell your request apart from anyone else's, so the routes below that you can do yourself inside the app are the ones to use.
Email us about specific dataWhat we can remove this way:
- The usage analytics recorded against your account. You can also stop new analytics being collected at any time with the Analytics and diagnostics switch in Settings
- Your display name, bio and country. The bio and country you can also clear yourself under Profile, then Edit Profile
- Your quiz and battle history, your XP and your flag mastery, though removing these resets your progress and takes you off the leaderboard
- The device token we use to send you battle invites. You can also switch that off under Notifications in Settings
Your username is the exception. Every account needs one in order to exist, so it goes when the account does and not before.
We reply within the time the law where you live requires, and we may need to ask you something first to confirm the account is yours.
